USMLE Do I need a working stethoscope for Step 2 CS

I don't want to take my Littman and risk losing it somewhere along the way. I bought a $6 stethoscope on Ebay made in China, of course, which is utter trash. It's useless for listening to any heart sounds. Can I use it for CS though? We're not actually really listening to anything right? So can I basically use this $6 piece of junk as a prop?

What are you, on Aricept? Just stick your Littman in carry-on luggage. You won't lose it. They also have spare stethoscopes at the testing site.

Without disclosing test material, I was happy my stethoscope worked.

You should actually be listening. There are some PE signs that can be "faked" by SPs and you need to hear those things.

There were also some PE signs that WEREN'T faked. I'm glad I heard those things...
