Do I need to call in?

I was offered an acceptance by LLU, but I didn't reply to it and intended to call in and tell them that I was going to give up my spot (I called a couple times and left messages, but I never got a call back and kept getting reminder emails to pay my deposit).

My deadline is up and I received an email saying that my acceptance is no longer valid. Should I still call in a tell them I am not pursuing LLU anymore, or can I leave it as is?
