I'm looking for some advice. I just took the DAT and got the following scores:
Bio:19
Chem: 19
Orgo: 21
Reading: 21
QR:17

PAT:21

Science: 20
AA:19

I really screwed up the QR section because I had a hard time using that dry erase marker, etc and just wasted too much time. With a 19 AA and 3.79 GPA, should I retake the DAT?

=

you dont have to. but if you know you can do better, go for it

I dont think you need to.
You've got a solid GPA and a solid score.

No retake needed. A 17 in QR isn't necessarily going to kill you. Very strong GPA solid DAT score, you are all set. Now start working on your personal statement and asking professors for recommendations.

For what it's worth, three of the schools where I interviewed specifically said they "don't even look at the QR section" during my interview. I made a 16.

I got a 15 in QR 🙄

I was never asked about the low score, and it didnt stop me from getting in.
It's definitly the least important section of the DAT in my opinion.

During one of my interviews, my bad QR score was brought up and the guy said something like "That's ok because you only need to know how to count if you want to be a dentist."

Your stats sound OK. I had a 16 in QR and got into a bunch of schools. I think they don't care too much about QR, nobody ever even mentioned it to me. Your GPA is good, and I think that counts for a lot, it should easily balance out one ho-hum score.

i also got a 16 in QR..........i think QR is just hard this past year for some reason?

i have similar stats to you. i think you will be fine

My scores from last year's DAT are very similar to yours, tho i got a 16 QR. your GPA is higher than mine also, and i got into 3 schools. i wouldn't retake, just make sure you get your app in early.

Good Luck!

Unless you're not settling for anything less than Harvard, don't retake it. If you have a bad day, you could really screw up your chances.

you're good. i got similar scores to you. I"m sure you'll be fine.
