To be clear: He did not outright hit on me, but I felt uncomfortable and stopped shadowing him. He's the only do I shadowed, and needless to say didn't get a LOR. Can I even mention this in interviews? Im going to shadow someone else but just submitted primaries with an MD letter, so I do want to mention I shadowed a do if it comes up in an interview, but don't want to needlessly make myself look bad by mentioning this.

You should probably just say something like you had a brief shadowing experience with an osteopathic physician if asked, but you shouldn't say anything about the perceived uncomfortable situation. You can say due to scheduling conflicts you weren't able to shadow him any longer. But in the mean time do work on finding something else.

If the question comes up, just say you didn't feel like you had enough time with a DO to request a quality letter. If you go into the whole story of him allegedly hitting on you, you're just gonna make your interviewers feel kind of awkward.

Yes you should mention you shadowed a DO. To avoid to situation of the LOR, try and shadow another DO as soon as possible. You won't look bad ringing it up but you need to keep everything as positive as possible so just avoid it.

I'm sorry this happened to you and that it thwarted your application process. That shouldn't happen in a professional environment.

Don't mention it in any of your personal statements. If it's your only experience, minimize it. When speaking with the Adcom try to keep everything positive. I mean happy happy happy HAPPY H.A.P.P.Y. positive. I have had enough interviews in life for enough things in life to say this is what you need to get ahead.

Your interview can't be a confessional, and you should not tell your life story. Give them the information they ask, but put a positive spin on it; apply this to you PS as well.

Last, this DO should not have done that.
