So, freshmen year - I received an honor code violation in Chem 1 and received an F in the class.
Got an A- in Chem 2.
Re-took Chem 1, got a B.
My other science grades aren't spectacular. Got C+'s in both semesters of Bio. Made up for it with A's in a few more, but I did get a C in Biochem.
Orgo's are both B's.
So, that F really destroyed my science GPA basically.
Overall is about a 3.1-3.2, science is approximately a 2.8-2.9 (should be able to get it over 3.0 after summer).

Basic question - do I stand a chance getting in with that honor code violation? I've heard a lot of varying stories. It was freshmen year, and I'd say I've shown a moderately upward trend. I have an evaluation from the lab TA who accused me of the violation talking about my progress and how my performance was in lab second semester. Pretty ****ty situation but nobody's fault but my own - any advice?

I think if you just got either the honor code violation or the low GPA, everything would still be OK.

I would say your best shot is to do extremely well on the DAT. If that still doesn't work. Do a SMP and ace it.

Are your GPAs posted using the AADSAS grade conversions, or are those off your transcripts?

At least the honor code violation was early in your undergrad. An honor code violation later on say senior year would definitely destroyed your chances. I hope you learned something from that.

Kill the DAT and raise your gpa. That's that.
If you really care, then I am 100% sure you will get in.🙂
