Can one of my LOR's (a DO LOR) be from someone who would be considered a friend of the family and has known me since I was very young? Or would that be considered biased?

If they know you and know about why you want to be a doc and can talk postively about you...................ABSOLUTELY let them write it 🙂

Have you ever shadowed them? If not can you shadow them? That would add to the importance of that LOR.

This particular friend does not live close to me currently. But I am shadowing other DO's. I just think maybe this "family friend" might write a better LOR than someone I have not known very long.
