Hi Everyone,

I've been thinking of applying to DO schools but I do not have a rec letter from a DO. Applying to medical school is relatively new to me, I did grad school instead, and although I've shadowed physicians before, I've never shadowed a doctor in a primary care office and I wasn't sure how receptive they were to that. I'll also be heading back to grad school in about 2 months, so anyone with any advice as to how I should approach them or get the LOR would be really hepful! Thanks everyone!

There are DO schools that do not require letters from DO. Letters from MD can subsitute at those schools. At the interview they were interested in clinical experiences that I had so if you lack this area, you should gain more experience. You can go through www.aacom.org and/or search SDN for schools that do not require DO letters.
