Hey everyone,

I'm sure this has been asked many times before so sorry for asking again but I couldn't find an answer.

Do med schools (MD or DO) accept course work from CCs and/or course work through a California State University Open Campus program? If they're online courses?

I recently graduated and am taking a year off to work and apply. I've fulfilled all my pre-med requirements at a 4 year university but on the chance I dont get in this cycle, I was hoping to boost my GPA with some added courses.

Thanks for the help

Most will, but u need to read about each school to make sure. Example Cooper med school says they won't accept gen Chen classes from a cc, I had already taken at cc so emailed them and they said I could replace them with the o Chen I took. In general though they do accept from ccs, hence the transcript requests by amcas.

Most accept CC credits. Some don't.

Unfortunately, there is no single (easy) way to tell which are which.

Yes, the MSAR lists if cc credits are acceptable at each individual med school.

Depends on the school.
