DO applicant applying Neurology this upcoming cycle and would appreciate feedback on my signal list and overall chances. I passed COMLEX 1 and Step 1, scored 259 on Step 2, and have a strong background in neuroscience education and research with multiple abstracts, posters, and leadership roles in neurology-related initiatives with presentations at the AAN and ANA as well as 12 research items total (one actual pub in a basic neuroscience journal pending review and one published abstract, rest are posters and oral presentations). Clinical grades are 4 Honors 4 HP 1 P. I will have completed two neurology away rotations at academic centers (one after ERAS submission) and have four LORs: two from neuro attendings at one away (including an APD), one from a long-time mentor, and one from a non-neuro FM department chair. My signal list includes a mix of academic and Florida-based programs. Main goals are strong teaching, research opportunities, and staying in Florida if possible. I am interested in being a clinician educator, but have no real interest in research as a career. Subspecialty interests include Movement and Neuroimmunology. Wondering whether this distribution is smart for a DO applicant and if there is any insight on the programs I plan on signalling and whether I should swap any out? My partner who I am couples matching with is applying EM as well.
