BYU has 2 campuses?

I had literally no idea there was a BYU outside of Utah. Maybe that accounts for the fact there has been at least 1 guy from BYU on each of my interviews... literally each of them except maybe Columbia. You all put out a lot of dentists.

BYU-Provo sends over 165 students to dental school every year. I'm sure BYU-I is much less and BYU Hawaii even less than Idaho.

I'm sure there is a lot of mix-up, but chances are if you hear BYU it's probably in reference to Provo just from shear numbers.

From what I have noticed on my interviews Mormon students in general are considered BYU students even if they didn't go there haha

Oh I hope they don't get it mixed up. I'd hate for people to think I go to provo. Now that would be embarrassing.... I need to make sure I emphasize the BYU- Hawaii part.

If someone says they went to BYU I automatically assume BYU in Utah.

Similar to Texas, if someone says they go to UT I automatically assume UT - Austin, not UT-Dallas or UT- Arlington, UT-El Paso, UT-Permian Basin, UT-San Antonio, UT-Texas Rio Grande Valley, or UT-Tyler. But if they didn't go to UT Austin it's not a big deal...

EDIT: Oh, UT also likes to play inception. There's the UT sister campus in Tyler. So, UT - Tyler. But then UT - Tyler has a Palestine campus. So there's UT - Tyler, Palestine campus.

"I go to UT."
"Oh, UT Austin, cool."
"No, UT Tyler."
"Oh cool, I grew up in Tyler."
"No, UT Tyler Palestine campus. I live in Palestine."
"I... ok."

It shouldn't make a difference at all, but I will admit that it could be annoying to have to correct people. Most people just take certain schools at face value for the school in that system that is the best one (i.e. BYU meaning Provo, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, UNC-Chapel Hill).

It'd honestly be the least of my worries at any interviews

Happens all the time with any school with similar names. Penn confused with UPenn and Penn State. UC with any of the UC's. UTA with UT-Arlington. UVA with UVA at Wise.
