I know this is a very silly question, but I am wondering if people wear a coat over their suit during the interview?
I am thinking of just wearing a suit, not a coat so that I don't have to worry about taking it off and leaving it behind and so on..
What did you all do?

Lol no, that would defeat the purpose of the suit. You take it off if they have an area for coats or just on the back of your chair if they don't.

i dont know what to do because us floridians dont know what cold is! so im going up north and have no idea what to wear lol

im also debating that i should get a pant suit instead of using a skirt suit because it would probably be dumb to adcoms show up in 30-40 degree weather in a skirt -_-

you do the tour within the school and have limited time outside the building, so you will want to take it off anyway.
I'd think it's easier to not wear one, unless it's like -20

I did lol, it was at midwestern Illinois. Plus i wore boots too :naughty:

Most common jackets for suits are top coats (Colder weather) or trench coats (Windy/rainy) , for shoes in snowy weather you can either wear chelsea boots or galoshes over your shoes or bring a change of shoes (Most likely not possible for dental school interviews), accessories such as scarves and umbrellas are fine. I don't know what the formalities of woman attire though but I know there are topcoats and trench coats for women.

I wore a suit skirt to my Buffalo interview the first week of January (temp was one digit if I remember correctly) and got in three days later - don't you even worry haha.

There is always a place for you store your things/hang up your coat.

At my BU interview, a lot of people even brought luggage into our main room (where we spent the most of the day), and at my Buffalo interview, a wonderful faculty member even took our coats and hung it up in a closet for us. I was carrying my travel backpack too and was allowed to store it inside as well.

Be warm and best of luck!
