Does the average pharmaceutical sales representative or physician recruiter earn more money annually (when factoring in base salary, bonuses and commisions) compared to the average pediatrican, psychiatrist, family medicine or internal medicine (non-specialized) physician?

Before the economy crashed, I had heard rumors of pharmaceutical sales reps getting six figure end of year bonuses and physician recruiters getting anywhere from $18,000 to $25,000 bonuses from their firms if they got physicians to sign a contract with one of their clients' openings/vacancies. Has anyone else heard similar figures?

I'd love to hear any feedback regarding this topic.

you can become a physician recruiter from your home.

25 k for each physician placed.. all you need to do is place 4 a year and make 100 K.

Pharma drug reps don't make much, but they have the opportunity to advance and climb the corporate ladder. If you're a primary care rep, then your base might be as high as $70-890k, depending on your company. If you're a specialty rep, then you can make over $100k as base.

I also work with many recruiters who make quite a bit, but given the current economic state, they are hurting to make placements in the corporate world. They get paid a % of the annual salary, so if they place a CMO who earns $350k and they receive 30%, then that can add up very quickly.
