Do plants have lysosomes?

Yeah recent evidense suggests/proves that plants do have lysosomes however if this question appears on the DAT, the general consesus is that the answer should be no. Wuld be a really poor job though by the ADA to ask this question on a DAT.

yeah i forgot to mention that new experimental evidence suggests that they do, but it still debatable. However, the consensus is that they do ( at least now). Good to know that the dat didn't update their data base 😉
Yes they do, do a little research and you wil find many papers that prove it. It is relatively new research but they do contain lysosomes as of now.
Plants do have a specialized cellular organelles (peroxisomes) in choloroplast that act just like lysosomes do in mitochondria. They are filled with enzymes like lysosomes. During Photorespiration they breakdown the glycolated products. However they budoff from ER not from Golgi apparatus (lysosome's source). I don't know about any other lysosome type of thing in plants. Does the researches you are reffering to talks about another lysosomal organell?
proxisomes work through catalytic enzymes. Acidity in lysosomes lyses the molecule but in proxisome conversions and break down occurs. So in plants, they are filled with proteins and enzymes (such as catalase) that are made in cytosol. In plant they are mainly responsible for oxidation of fatty acids to carbohydrate in seeds and phtorespiration in leaves (O2 fixation).
