DO Psych Residency -> Fellowship

I'm doing a DO Psych residency and if I want to do a DO Psych or MD Psych fellowship, can I apply during my third year of residency? I know the answer is yes in the MD world, but what about the DO world?

You mean can u fast track to a c&a fellowship? That depends on the program. Not all MD ones let u either. It depends on whether u got electives in 4th year and just your program in general

If the fellowship is one of the few AOA fellowships then yes. If not, I don’t think you can fast track. The ABPN will not allow you to mix accreditations. 3 years of AOA and one of ACGME will not do it. This is my understanding, but I haven’t asked the ABPN directly.
