During this weeks episode of Hung on HBO there was a scene of a banquet dinner where doctors were being awarded for their performance... On the projector on the screen of the stage the initials of the doc were D.O. ! Yes, I am that much of a nerd to post about this.

Sweet. It's funny to think how more people will probably google 'what's a DO' because it was on an episode of 'hung' than would ever inquiry about the degree for any sort of clinical reason.

This reminds me of one time I was with friends watching American Greed, I think, the physician was a DO out of MSU-COM and I cringed. With so much less visibility than MDs the media is a double edged sword.

Just watched this ep too, for people who don't watch the show, the DO is a main character and a dermatologist. (He is basically there to be on the receiving end of bad things in his relationship though :meanie:)

more of a secondary character, but he is in the show quite a bit.

And on Dr. 90210 Will Kirby is out of NSU-COM and is osteopathic trained in derm.
