do research credits count toward the app gpa?

Hi everyone,

My school gives credit for doing research. you can take up to 5 units per quarter and you'll receive a letter grade like a regular class. My question is will these count into my gpa when i apply? thanks.

I am in a similiar situation, but our pre-med advisor said that it counts towards your overall GPA but NOT on your science GPA

For us it counts towards the science GPA but our research is a "class" that you have to sign up for
