I was wondering, of all those classes you took in pharmacy school (pharmacokinetics, pharmacotherapy, pharmacology), do retail pharmacists use this knowledge throughout their day, or is this just restricted to hosptital pharmacy. Or do hospital pharmacists even use this stuff? Also, if someone were to go into pharmacy because they really like scince, what area of pharmacy would you suggest? Thanks everyone!!!

yes - I currently work both retail & hospital & do use my knowledge in both areans....there is a thread about a retail pharmacist trying to get a dose of a drug changed to match the kinetics of that drug...so yes - all of us use the knowledge.

As for liking science in general as an undergrad...that won't give you any help in knowing what you'll like as a pharmacist. You have to give that time & trial to see what you like.

But, don't worry - you have lots of time in pharmacy school to figure it out & I changed directions in my career after 23 years.....so never say never!
