I am curious to find out the first an second year daily schedule for some of the schools. ie. what time do they have class everyday. Is it 8-5, or 8-12 ect. Any school info is appreciated but specifically KCUMB, KYCOM, LECOME, and Western Pomona.

It varies everyday for us. Some days you start at 8a, some days 9a. Some days you finish at 12p and other days you finish at 4p. Other days you have one class at 10a and you're done for the day.

Also, it's not like college where you have Histo on Tuesday/ Thursday and Anatomy on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Some weeks you don't even have Histo. Your schedule changes on a daily basis.

You get my point.

Is that standard procedure for most DO programs or just yours? Which is what school by the way?

I'm at DMU and it is pretty much the same. For example, last week I had 3 biochem lectures, 7 anatomy lectures, and 2 anatomy labs. add OMM. This week I have 10 biochem lectures, 3 anatomy lectures and 2 labs. no OMM. changes every day, every week.

I believe I have seen you post about your kids in the past, how are you managing your time between your family and school?

by being incredible.

just time management. i am also active in student government and clubs. it is actually easy if you are good at time management.

As far as KCUMB, it is pretty consistent that we have 4 50-minute lectures Monday through Friday from 8 until noon. We then have an hour lunch, and the afternoons vary quite a bit, based upon the block we are in. Tuesdays are OMM lab, and the others can be pathology lab, anatomy lab, etc. There are 4 lab groups and the schedule is adjusted accordingly. To give you some perspective, this past week I had some 8 hour days and one that was as short as 3 hours.

LECOM-Erie you can expect to be at the school 5-days a week if you're LDP. Actual schedule varies really. You have much more time "off" during anatomy when they're running gross labs. Once core and then systems start though, most days you're there until 5:00 or 5:30, starting at 8:00 or 8:30. You'll get a bit of time off on Wednesday's when the OMT labs alternate, but core/systems classes still run in the morning/afternoon depending on which year you are. Every now and then they'll give you a day off before an exam for study time, it varies on the course/system though.

Western as of right now we are in class 5 days a week, normally from 8-4/5 or somethimes 9-5 with a lunch break from 12-1. I don't mind it too much, except for when tests come around, but most of our tests ar on Monday so we have all wekend to study
