Do schools let you know why you weren't accepted?

Or even invited to an interview?

For the schools that didn't invite me, didn't accept me straight or didn't accept me at all, I really would like to know the reason. Can I call and find out?

And this really is to just make myself a better applicant in the future. I was pretty overconfident going into the entire process but was quickly humbled by the caliber of students I met throughout the entire process.

None of them tell you by default (meaning in the rejection letter, "we regret to inform you that you've been rejected because A, B, C).

I have heard of many people, though, calling the admissions office and having a brief chat with an admissions officer (or setting up an appointment to stop by their alma mater's med school).

Dang so I guess schools like Harvard and Yale probably wouldn't, considering they weren't very responsive earlier on in the cycle to me either. Thanks.

...but you've already been accepted, and the next application process you'll have to go through will be quite unlike this one, so whatever you could learn would have limited use...

but yeah, can't hurt to ask if you have the time, i guess.

i guess i was mostly thinking in terms of interviewing skills for those places where i interviewed

or for those that i didn't, problems in particular with my writing or something

basically, general issues, not things like you should have had 20 more hours of hospital volunteering or anything like this

You've been accepted and want feedback? I guess it doesn't hurt to ask but most/all of the schools that give feedback do it for applicants that weren't accepted anywhere.
