Are DO Schools Pre-Reqs the same as MD school pre-reqs usually? i.e. bio, chem, physics, organic, english, or are they any different than MD schools? I am planning on applying to DO schools, but I am graduating in May, so I am hoping that I don't have to take any extra classes to fulfill any special DO requirements.

Thanks for your help

When schools ask for two semesters of biology, does that specifically mean the gen. biology sequence (for pre-med), or can other biology courses fit into the biology pre-requisites (for example-microbiology, anatomy, physiology, anatomy, genetics, etc.)? Thanks

This is so irritating. I was asked this week if I had to take the MCAT because I was applying to DO school. And then to follow up that brillant comment my in-laws called my husband to ask what restrictions I was going to have because I was going to be like a PA and they know they have to work under a doctor's supervision. GRRRRRRR, AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGGGGGGGGGGGGG😡

Ok,ok, I am done ranting for the moment.

To the OP, read drmom's link for the info you seek.
To V-lander You have to take general bio I and II with labs for both of them. The classes you listed are counted as higher level electives and are also good to have.

Actually i believe u can take almost any basic bio courses. I only took general bioI, but took a whole bunch of other bio; ie. a&p, micro, ecology, genetics, etc. I was never questioned on whether i took the gen bio sequence. I think they just want a certain # of credits in bio unless they specifically designate a course. so if u have other bio i wouldnt worry but call schools to make sure.
