Do some D.O. schools need a letter from a non science faculty?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I believe NSUCOM does, if you don't have a committee letter, while others such as PCOM you have the option to have one of your letters come from non-science faculty.

AZCOM doesn't:

  1. Two letters of recommendation are required.
    • One letter from either a premedical advisory committee or science professor who has taught the applicant

    • Second letter from either a D.O. or an M.D. Letters from osteopathic physicians are strongly recommended, and letters written by immediate family members are not acceptable
Do some D.O. schools need a letter from a non science faculty as in allopathic schools?

I just have 2 science faculty and 1 do lor.

Some schools, like NSU and PCOM, require 3 letters from faculty (2 MUST be science). So technically one CAN be from a non-science faculty, however NO school REQUIRE a non-science faculty letter.

As you're probably realizing, it's different for every school. For OSUCOM if you don't have a committee letter, you do need a non-science faculty in addition to 2 science faculty and a DO.
