So if I have to take a drug test and I have medication for attention issues, will this be something that I could get in trouble for or risk rescinding my acceptance?

I don’t take it often and have had a prescription since I was a child through adulthood but I’m kinda worried all the same

Not at all! For my school, Labcorp would send us our results before sending it out to the school. I have a classmate who is on ADHD medication and they contacted her letting her know she tested positive for amphetamines, she sent in her script to LabCorp and they changed her test to say she passed and then sent it to the school. Even if the school got your drug test results with a positive test, you’ll be fine as long as you have a script.

Yeah idk I’m just paranoid that my acceptance will be taken away because of a positive result. This is reassuring though.

You’ll be fine! You could check your schools handbook to see if they have anything about prescription medication but I highly doubt they would be able to reject a student for taking a prescribed medication.

You’re fine.

The caveat being it has to be a current, valid prescription. You can’t be taking leftover Adderall from a prescription that expired 5 years ago. That’s grounds for failure of the drug test.
Appreciate it. Thanks man.

I have had lots of blue-collar jobs in the past and every single drug test that I’ve taken, they request a list of prescription medications. Just tell them you have a prescription and you will be fine.
Cool. I just don't want to look stupid in front of the admission committee when it shows I peed positive for ADHD meds.. It's my medication but I still feel insecure about it, at times. Plus, I don't want them to think i'm any less competent because of that, y'know?

they won't think less of you, ADHD or any mental illness does not make a person less competent. Those in charge of medical education should understand that.

Sure but if they think of you as less competent, who cares? It is admissions. You won’t deal with them ever again as a group and your professors likely won’t remember they interviewed you. And if they act on it, that would be highly illegal as discrimination. So either way, this will be behind you in a couple months never to be remembered by anyone.

Never disclose any of this to your school, or any other personal health matters. You'll get a call from a doctor at the drug test place, then you can tell them that you have the prescription. School should always be in a minimal need-to-know basis with you.

Alright.

I haven't taken it in a day and a half and will probably test in a day or two. Still kinda paranoid ngl.

I may have. If you could link the post, I could delete it.

really? I assumed it would take a week.
Amphetamines usually come out fast, depending on amount, how consistently you've been taking it, and you. 7 days is what I would call the upper limit. Typically it's 3-4 days. That said, every test is different too.
