DO vs MD?

I've been planning on applying to med school (MD) for awhile now, and I have just recently began considering getting a DO instead. My chances of getting into med school are extremely borderline in my opinion, mainly due to my GPA (3.45 from prestigous liberal arts school). Does anyone have recommendations on good sites to get more information on what it really means to get your DO (vs. MD) and how did you guys decide to pursue this instead of an MD?

I agree....but I don't mind cutting and pasting those links if a new sdn member will actually read them....they make the DO/MD thing pretty clear and will likely answer most questions by new posters...

Oh...and did i mention that the threads "do. vs md" really fast tend to turn into a flaming war...?
