Hi,

I’m getting my biology BS next and come considering applying pharmacy school (especially roseman in Nevada).
Do we expect a lot of paper writing in pharmacy school? (Roseman?)

AVOID Roseman at all costs. It's overpriced for a subpar education. Pharmacy school is easy as hell to get into these days. If you truly want to go to pharmacy school, then go to the pharmacy school at your state's flagship university. It'll cost you 1/3 of what Roseman will charge you, it will have better professors, and it will provide you with better networking opportunities.

To answer your original question: you won't be doing much writing in class (aside from doing SOAP notes, discharge notes, initial assessments, etc... but not too many essays). However, you will be doing a lot of writing for job applications and scholarship applications (if you want a good internship position and outside scholarships).

I wrote several 10+ page papers in P2.

I had some essay type questions, but these days a lot of it is just electronic and multiple-choice. Writing and communication skills aren't going to be a gigantic portion of your grades even though they should be.

Hmm, of course my experience was decades ago, but we had a required term paper for every single elective. Some teachers being far more lenient on the requirements for it than others. So I would say it probably depends on the school how much writing you do.

It probably varies a little from school to school, but in my program it looks like some of the non-science courses are pretty writing intensive.
