Do Ws count as Fs according to AADSAS?

I keep hearing mixed responses regarding this. I just submitted my application, and have 2 Ws (totally not because I was failing). The conversion chart says nothing regarding Ws.

What's your experience on this? Thanks!

I don't think W's affect your AADSAS GPA at all.

No they do not. A W is just a W. NOT an F.

I thought that w's dont count especially since under AADSAS grade you can list it as "None." However, after seeing this question i called AADSAS and asked a cust rep and she told me that they count as F's. I think she doesnt know what she's talking about, but i guess ill have to wait until they calculate my GPA.

I am absoutely, undoubtably, certainly, 99.99% postive that W's do NOT count as F's. However, Classes retaken because of an F ARE counted, for example, you get an F in biostatistical analyisis (aghh - dr. wheeler - your an #$@$!), and you retook and made a B. Both will get averaged into your GPA.

Of course W's dont count as F's. I can't believe ppl are so confused about this. When you get a W..under AADSAS grade you put 'none'. end of story..therefore it doesn't get computed in your GPA. Someone who dropped a course because of personal problems or whatever obviously doesn't deserve the same fate as someone who stayed in the course, but didn't study and failed miserably.

I understand why people are confused -- AADSAS gives out completely wrong information when applicants call and ask about W's. Anyway, everyone else that has previously posted NO is right. W's do not count as F's. 🙂

I did get my hopes up when I thought someone said they didn't count Fs in your gpa if you retake the class
