Do you guys provide SSN on your application?

It is optional not obligated. So I just wonder if it is necessary for me to put my SSN or not?

I think you kind of answered your own question when you said it is optional.

I was advised to answer as many questions as possible on the application, even the optional ones.

I left it blank. It's one thing I am very stingy with providing, and only do it when absolutely necessary. Personal preference.

It comes into play later I think. We got an email about ppl not getting notified about their FAFSA loans due to not having the SSN on file from the app. No biggie.

Most state licensing boards will reject your app without an SSN. (Heck, nowadays most states require your SSN before issuing you a driver's license.) Some hospitals will not let you rotate without an SSN on file.

And when it is required, I will give it to them. If it says "optional" I'm not giving anyone my social.
