Do you guys suggest taking one or two prerequisites over the summer?

I am currently a student at Emory University, and I am a biology major. I am thinking of taking one intro physics course with lab over the summer at Brooklyn College in New York City. I want to ease my workload in the future when I take upper-level classes. What do you guys think? Does it look bad to the admission committee? or this is not going help me on the DAT? Any comments are greatly appreciated.

I did something similar, and I'm pretty happy I did. I took both semesters of physics with the labs and a spanish class the summer after my freshman year. It has really helped me fit in all of my classes cause my school has a large core curriculum. I don't think dental schools will look down on it much as long as you do well in the class.

I took the last general chemistry over the summer so I could start taking organic in the fall.

I don't see why it would "look bad." You are in school...not like your lazying around back at home doing nothing.. lol

I really like summer courses, and if you do well in them I don't see why schools would care. I have heard the argument that schools don't look as favorably on summer school as regular semester, but as long as you take decent workloads in the regular semester I don't think there is validity to that argument.

I also had to take Chem 2 over the summer so I could take Orgo this past fall. It was hard but it had to be done. In your case, as long as you are taking a full course load during the fall and spring I don't see why not.
I'm planning on taking another summer course this summer and taking the DAT in August.
