Do you guys think a 3.05 sGPA will be too low?

Im really freaking out 🙁
This will be me pulling it up from the already 2.7 sGPA. (I have all of that planned out, and it is doable, as I could have done better the first time around)
This past summer, I ended up getting diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder so I ended up getting a C in my orgo class and ended up dropping my physics class (both were retakes)

3.05 is doable. Maybe retake 1 or 2 classes if you have the time. Otherwise you definitely have a chance but a 3.1 opens more doors.

Sorry to hears what's going on :/What's your MCAT scores? 3.0 is usually the cut off do I think you'll be good for most schools
Thank you for responding! It's just been really hard to study when I get sick all the time, but Im still trying to push through 🙂 I actually have not taken my MCAT yet. I am just trying to finish UG, cause it's only so much stress I can take before I end up getting sick again.

Hmm.. okay! Thank you for the input. I have a question though. If I graduate in December with a 3.05. and then next spring decide to take some classes at a CC or another school, will these grades still count into my sGPA?
Coming from the culture I'm from, Im already late in graduating and that is the end of the world for my father, so If i could just graduate and then work on my stuff on my own time. Will that work?

Absolutely, but you have to make sure the classes you take at the CC have the same credits as the ones you already took. Also, you must send both transcripts when you apply.

Where are people getting the idea that a 3.0/3.1 gives a good shot into a DO school? I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but any DO school worth going to will have an avg. GPA ~ 3.5. If you consider that MD schools have an avg. around 3.7, then this is the equivalent of an applicant having a 3.3/3.4 applying MD, which would be a long shot without a great MCAT score to make up for it.

He's talking about his science GPA. 3.1 sGPA is acceptable in most DO schools.

The 2013 matriculant report says "Science GPA mean 3.45, SD 0.30". I am not that optimistic for the OP.

I would argue that your sGPA is more important than your cGPA in most cases.

OP, it is not the end of the world, but you better have a high MCAT to make up for that GPA. If you can't deal with retakes to move that sGPA in the ~3.2/3.3 region, I would focus on the MCAT. 28/29+ will get you looked at by the newer schools, but if you really want a good chance of getting accepted, you will need >30.

I'm sorry, but no. It is not acceptable, it is close to the minimum that is even looked at by a human being at most schools. When the mean sGPA of matriculants is 3.45, a 3.1 is not "acceptable". Now if you have a >29 MCAT, then maybe you'll get in somewhere, but a 3.1 sGPA by itself is not "acceptable in most DO schools".
