I'm considering possible surgical specialties and one of the things that steers me away from plastics is that I've never been much of an artist. Plastic/cosmetic surgery comes across to me as just as much an art as a science. I have a good eye (I'm an amateur photographer) but I've never been able to draw realistic looking human figures or sculpt. It seems to me like two plastic surgeons could perform the same procedure and get totally different results based on subjective factors that can be altered within the asthetic judgement of the surgeon, and that's where the art comes in. Is it possible to be successful in this field even if you're not a born Picasso? I've noticed that many plastic surgeons that you see interviewed or in the media always seem to include painting and other visual arts among their hobbies, and I doubt this is coincidence.

I think it's more of an eye for what something will look like in the future. I suck more than a dyson when it comes to art, but I think I'm pretty skilled in putting things together in an aesthetically appealing way (I'm not a plastic surgeon though).
