I'll be attending summer classes to try and raise my GPA.
Unfortunately new California state laws say that you cannot repeat a course you previously passed with a C or better.

So, if I send in my transcript to the CC to have the prerequisites for Chem 11B waived, the won't let me take Chem 11B.

The only recourse I have is to retake Chem 11A and pass to then take Chem 11B.
I received an A in Chem 11A at my school. If I repeat and earn an A, do I need to report it as a repeat? Or can I have it averaged into my GPA as a new class?

What if I took it pass/no pass?

Just to let you know, I'm not a CA resident so I'm not sure of the laws there - but you said that you can't retake a course that you got at least a C, so how would you even retake Chem 11A?

If that new state law is true then that's a terrible law. Have you called the CC to see if you can retake only 11B?

I can not send them my transcript in which case I just do the whole series over again. I talked to their admissions and they said this was okay. Imho I think its a bad law. Instead of just retaking 1 class I now retake 2 which is counter to the whole point why they have the law in the first place.

That whole situation is strange. But I think if you took 11A at two different schools, they would only count one towards your GPA. Highly doubt they would allow the same class to be factored in twice.
