hey,

I am trying to figure out if it's necessary to read through all of FA before doing the DIT lectures. I was hoping that the videos would be a good way to first get through the FA book and then read it again with the notes i'll prob put in it. I have already gotten through the Kaplan lectures so I should have a decent base.

also, if anyone has seen both....would it be better to use DIT 2011 or 2012 if you could choose? the format for 2012 seems a little confusing

I think you can do the DIT lectures with FA together for the first time. It basically goes through First Aid with you and gives you additional things that may not be found in FA.

Sorry, can't answer about 2011 vs 2012

If you did well during your first two years, you can do without. If not, it may benefit you to read FA before. I had a pretty strong foundation before, so I felt comfortable doing DIT without reading FA first, but I can see it being a little too much if that foundation isn't there.

Well, obviously the more times you go through FA, the better. Personally, however, I just couldn't make myself sit down and read FA straight through for the first. So I just watched all of DIT while annotating into FA, which gave me some direction/organization, and now I about to start my second pass through FA while incorporating Pathoma into the pathology sections.

Most of the time I just went straight through from video to video, but if it covered some particularly dense or difficult material, I would read it over a couple times before moving on.

thanks for the replies.

you guys seem to be thinking what I am. I'm def. gonna go through FA multiple times but the thought of simply reading it the first time seems like it wouldn't stick very well and take a long time to get through.

I do have a decent base of knowledge as I have gotten through kaplan, but I was still worried DIT would move to fast or not make sense. However, if it will help me get through FA the first time with some good notes, then I feel that reading FA a bunch of times after that would be quick and efficient.

has anyone out there tried DIT 2012 and can comment on the new format???
