Do you keep your textbooks?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I keep the ones for core subjects like ochem and physics. I sell the useless ones like ethnic studies and eastern history (or just "download" them if I can get away with it)

The only science book I've kept is Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry. On the other hand, I've kept a lot of my philosophy/literature books because I would only get $1-2 for each of them. Not worth the trouble. Plus, it helps fills up the books shelf and I look cool when people see there's Machiavelli or Kafka on there 😉

Lehninger FTW.

OP, you will almost certainly not be using your textbooks for MCAT prep. It's ill advised, as well, since they're too involved and not concise and readable prep books are available especially for the exam.

I sold all of mine back, except those that I would only get $5 back for or something ridiculous. And honestly, of those I have kept... they are probably under my bed or something. Have not touched them once.

I end up thinking every one of them is important. and will somehow aid me in the mcat. and I end up not selling them.

Also A la Carte books are the BEST :bookworm: You can take out the specific chapters you need for the test, and move on. But then....At the end of the semester, they are the worst mess of crinkled papers to try to sell.

Biochem by Lehninger
Molecular Bio of the Cell by Alberts
and an applied stats for biologists textbook

Probably the most useful textbooks for future reference? Sometimes Google can't get you the depth you want without having to sift through a handful of web pages.

Good for the mcat?

Yea OP I saved all my pre req science books thinking I'd use them for MCAT studying, but literally never touched any of them for the reasons J Senpai mentioned.

I'm planning on keeping my textbooks, and opening a one time single major college and sell them all to one person. I'm sure someone will bite.

Well there goes my reasoning..... :bang:
