If a person goes to two different colleges and took the same course but at different schools like for example a person goes to nyu then transfers to usc but took Biology 101 at both schools will the use both grades to calculate the gpa or count it as a retake and take the highest grade

I believe you'd have to talk to an AACOMAS rep to be 100% sure but imho, I don't think they'll scrunitize your application closely enough to distinguish if Bio101 is the same at both schools and modify your coursework with repeats unless you put down that the NYU Bio101 is R01 and USC Bio101 is the last repeat01. This may or may not work in your favor if you received As in both courses but if there are differing grades.. then I guess you can figure that out for yourself. It would realistically be improbable that they'll accept your NYU Bio101 as the last repeat and the Bio101 at USC as the initial repeat obviously.

I think it depends if AACOMAS catchs it or not. I, for instance, took several courses at one college and retook them at another college. At first AACOMAS didn't notice and gave me double credit for those courses. They later realized they were the same and they adjusted my GPA accordingly. I got A's both times, so my GPA actually went down, hah.
