Do you remember how many plant questions you got on your DAT?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've saved plants as a last minute cram, because I'd just forget it anyway.

I'm also wondering the same thing. Is the Cliff's chapter on plants way too detailed? What about the chart on qVault?

The day I read evidence that knowing how many cotyledons a monocot has versus a dicot saves a tooth is the day I study plants.

Just know the basics - xylem, phloem and their fuctions (ex: xylem takes water/nutrients to where? what are the forces that help in this?). Also know about angiosperms and the parts of a flower (male/female), the reproductive cycle (sporophyte/gametophyte) and its differences, meristems (lateral and apical, cambium). This may seem like a lot of info, but just know the basics...nothing too in depth and it's better to know it and not be tested than to have a question on it and regret not studying it.

Also for classification, know that bryophytes (spelling?) are mosses with dominant gametophyte stage and tracheophytes are vascular plants. Hope that helps!

I took it yesterday and I don't think I got a single question on plants.

I got a lot of questions on reproduction though and that pissed me off because i barely spent any time studying that

Zero plant questions 😎
Worked out well for me because I did not study plants...kind of a risk there, but with a limited amount of time, everything else in bio > plants

Thanks all!
Gatecher, thanks for the tips. I'm saving the plants for last...but I won't go too much in depth but my luck I'll have 5 questions so better to study at least a little.
