It seems like many people don't want dentists to go under HMOs. How much will salary be affected if this happens? When is it likely gonna happen?

Also what other realistic possibilities of the future can cause lower salaries?

A huge economic downturn could impact our incomes in a negative fashion, simply because much of our work is elective. This will vary from practice to practice, though.

many of the top netting dental offices just happen to be hmo/mill type practices...
