...will hurt me on the new proposed 2015 MCAT?
...will be easier to keep a higher GPA, so I can volunteer, do research, shadow, and work; than if I were to be a Biology major?

Also do non science major have a hard time keeping up and excelling in Med school? I really want to know, because I want to be as well as possible, to get a competitive residency if it interests me.

Put it this way: Do whatever major is more interesting to you. Medical Schools don't care about your minor.

I am a Russian major, Bio minor, and I'm only a Bio minor so I can keep up with my sciences and make sure my ducks are in a row. Other than that, I'm having no problems.

Your major does not affect how well you do in medical school, only you do.

the reason adcoms don't care what you major in is it really doesn't matter. When I was in med school, about the same percentage of nonscience folks ended up in competitive specialties as the science folks. The majority of the folks who struggled in med school were science majors, but that's not too surprising because the majority of students were science majors. The guy who is a nonscience major and takes all the prereqs tends to do just fine. Which, again, is why such a person is okay with adcoms. They are very good at selecting folks capable of doing the work.
