DoC for Akathisia

Benztropine or BBs? Different sources, saying different.

beta blockers? haven't heard that one--i would have to look into that. Rx of akathisia is typically w/ anticholinergics--benztropine or diphenyhydramine. 2nd line would be benzos.

Edit: Just looked it up on uptodate--they recommend benzos as first line for akasthisia, w/ propranolol 2nd line. They recommend benztropine or diphenyhydramine only as treatment for acute dystonia.

Yeap, this is what I was talking about. Always had benztopine in my mind.
