Doctor voice?

I was noticing it today that everyone on my team, including myself has a doctor's voice when talking to patients. Does anyone else put on this caring tone in your voice? I do it all the time, and I'm curious if my patients see right through me. I can't seem to help it, because all the other team members put on their doctor voices too. I feel like I have to belong. What is up with this?
