The primary reason I wanted to become a doctor was because of this program. My uncle used to be a part of this when my family and I lived in India, and it really sparked my interest in the program.

He is no longer affiliated with the organization and works in Internal Medicine, so I don't really have someone that I can talk to about it.

I was wondering if there were summer internships for college students who wanted to travel and explore medicine.

Also, would this look good on a med school application? I'd jump for the experience regardless, but just out of curiosity's sake, I'd like to know how adcoms view it.

First of all where do you live? i am asking because I know several programs that are similar wihth what you just described, depending on your residency.

As far as I know DWB only takes volunteers who have health care/health policy & planning/ other grad degrees. It's more for people who are already trained in their field. But I'm sure there are other programs you could look into for health abroad.

Yeah, you're not going to get involved with DWB unless they have special internships. You need to have completed your training before you can actually go on the trips.
