I have a 3.87 GPA and great extracurriculars. I am wondering if I should retake.. I have this weird feeling that maybe med schools will think that my 12V will show that I have critical thinking skills, and it may make up for the 8B and 8P (28 total).

Also a little scared that if I retake, I will go down in verbal and increase the sciences, but not enough to increase my score more than like a 29.

Applying to DO and MD but would rather get in to MD at the moment.

Any thoughts?

For MD schools you'll need minimums of 10s in all three categories; your 12 will NOT make up for the Bio8, that's for sure. Your 8s are OK for DO schools. You'll get interviews.

It doesn't make up for the other two sections, but your VR will def stand out. However, scoring low on the sciences, especially BS, does put you at a disadvantage. Your score would have been better had it been 12BS, 8PS, 8VR. Also, your total is still 28 so that puts you below average for MD schools.
