Seems like an asinine question, but I'd like to know because my BCPM depends on it.

It may have been harsh and could have been delivered more compassionately, but sad to say it's true. You're going to need to do a post-bacc (or a masters or whatever program) and get straight A's to prove that the 3.0 GPA doesn't reflect your abilities.
But there is no call to rub it in the OP's face instead of constructively suggesting SMP/post-bac or researching osteopathic medicine.

i appreciate your comments. but i'm not concerned. i have a strong upward trend, mcat, extraordinary extra currics and letters. even my premed advisor advised me to apply this yr.
