So I've been on sdn for awhile now and lurking even longer. Never even knew there was a post-bacc forum...
I think it's great that there are so many formal programs out there and, obviously, so many people interested in them, but does anyone go solo anymore? When I decided to pursue medicine I just looked up course offerings in my metro area and found an informal program. There were very few non-trads, but we had an incredibly knowledgable academic advisor. This was key. I worked hard on my pre-reqs and did well on the MCAT--it was a fast 18 months.
In any case, I had a successful application cycle and just wanted to let people know that you don't have to do a hardcore formal program to make it happen.
Good luck!
