The water repellent mirrors I've tried haven't worked particularly well, the water slides off them but it does so slowly, so you wind up prepping and then waiting 4-5 seconds for the mirror to clear and then you can resume prepping, so all it saves you is physically having to take the mirror out of the px's mouth. What's more is that if you have a mouth breather in the chair that coating doesn't de-fog at all. I've seen a few products in the trade magazines where you actually hook up the mirror to your air water supply and blow air on it as you need it for continuous prepping, but it seems cumbersome to add another line to the px's mouth in addition to the suction and the one coming off the handpiece.

This product looks promising, I'll be inquiring about the cost next week: http://www.i-dent-dental.com/product.php?lang=eng

There are hydrophobic solutions you can dip your mirror in and there are also mirrors that spin and use centrifugal force to rid the mirror of water.

ncide is right
just dissolve soap in water in a glass and keep it next to you, time to time put your mirror in it and then use it again
it worked for me
