I have a committee interview coming up at my university for my committee letter. Anyone know what to expect and what kind of questions I will be asked?

for my pre-med committee they are NOTHING like any of the the med school interviews i have been on so far. Basically, for me it's a demoralizing ordeal, several prof's playing good cop/bad cop. Issues on healthcare, grades, etc. Each school is different, but from my experience, they basically try and get at every point of your application to see where you stand. And if there is a hole, they'll exploit it for all it's worth. Honestly, in my case, it's done for undergrads who have no real interviewing experience and wind their nerves like crazy. I got my letter, despite fighting with the damn place for like 1 1/2 years to even consider me, and have never looked back. The pre-med office (which has never helped me) has asked me for help in my interviews for future students to use. HA!

as far as med school interviews, they've all been like conversations with people who want to really get at who you are deep down and why you want to do it. Very friendly, very casual.

That's comforting. Why did you have to battle for a year and a half?

My experience was eerily similar. They didn't help me at all - in fact, later I found out from a prof on the inside that their recommendation letter wasn't as stellar as it should have been. Luckily, two profs I worked for helped me out with great letters and I was able to bypass the sorry "pre professional committee" all together.

My committe interview was wonderful. It occurred before my med school interviews (of course) and it flowed smoothly, and really helped me gather some of my thoughts and ideas which I then used at the med interviews that came later.

My head of the committee at my school is an awesome guy-- and I just had a great time. We looked at the "holes" or "strengths" in my app, and discussed as how to approach them the best during the upcoming med school interviews.
