The broad concepts, how the pathways intertwine, etc. are so cool...

But who wants to memorize everything to the point of recalling the only chiral intermediate in B-oxidation of long chain FA's? So much epic don't care...

Yes its my major, I also enjoy orgo a lot. The smaller parts show you why everything works the way it works. It shows you the beauty of the molecular structure.

I loved photosynthesis in cell bio but hated it when I got to biochem. Cellular respiration, on the other hand, is the ****.

Not a fan of chemistry. The only reason I found Biochem somewhat interesting is because of the biology component. I really had to grit my teeth and focus to get through in undergrad.

It is recommended since biochem deals with chemical details of biological functions.

It's not a prereq for chemistry biochem at my school, I don't believe.
