Does Columbia require background check through CERTIPHI?

As the question above. Thank you. The concern is that NYU, which I was accepted, does not require CERTIPHI and I'm on waitlist for Columbia, so I wouldn't need to pay for it if Columbia doesn't require one. Thank you.
