I am just curious.. If I scored a 22 TS two times in a row on the DAT does that make me look more competitive? It obviously shows I have a strong science knowledge. My GPA is low bc I did not care my freshman year of college. I picked it up a lot once I transferred to a University. I know that I am a lot smarter than my G.P.A makes me out to be, and i'm hoping that can be recognized by how I scored in science twice in a row on the DAT.

I think it would be better if the scores improved after each retake, but I can see what you are saying about consistently scoring a 22. It will be interesting to see what people say.

First DAT scores were

19 AA 22TS 24 bio 22 orgo 19 GC 18 PAT 18 RC and a 14 QR

second retake

21 AA
22 TS
20 Bio
24 Orgo
23 GC
19 PAT
19 RC
19 QR

I appreciate your response.. I was just wondering how dental schools would look at that specifically but some people on here are just sarcastic and annoying haha

You improved your AA and drastically improved your QR. What are you worrying about, haha? Your TS did not decrease, and it's a 22, you're good.

Nice retake. Your new scores make you competitive at many dental schools. Your GPA is low but obviously you know the sciences well. Apply to a lot of schools and I am sure you'll get interview invites.

scoring a 22 in TS is tough to do, the fact that you scored it twice is a good sign but ideally it looks better when your score improves a little.

Improve score = great
stay the same = okay (helps that you already had a high score)
worse score = time to look into PA school lols

Overall, don't overthink the TS score. You drastically improved your QR and your AA is now above average. AA consists of the most parts and is typically the most important DAT figure.

Thank you for that response. I wish there were more people on this site that responds to threads like you do. I appreciate it. I feel a little more at ease now. Good luck with everything my friend!

A higher score makes you more competitive. An equal score does not, it is expected that your performance would remain consistent between exams. It's not like they're going to be thinking "maybe he just got lucky with that 22 TS the first time, but the second time sure seals the deal!"

With someone who has a low science G.P.A, Im sure it would make them re-evauluate what type of a student the applicant really is. I was not retaking this test to score better in science, Just in QR and alittle gen chem. Thats what the schools I spoke with wanted me to do, and I did exactly that, and while still maintaining the same above average science score.

Interesting point....

Consistency is always a quality of interest....

22TS is not easy, 2 times... Wow.... But the only negative could be someone thinking ... " is this applicant a wise guy ".... Why would someone retake a 22TS, and risk a lower score!?

Its my G.P.A I am worried about haha, 3.2 BCP and a 3.1 Science
You asked if consistency in your TS made you more competitive. Factoring in your increased AA and QR, I said you had nothing to worry about. It makes you more competitive whenever you increase your AA. No where in your OP did you ask about your GPA, only that is was low.

Thank you, and your right, it was a tough decision for me. I asked schools and some said to do it just to improve my QR score.

My first scores were

19 AA 22TS 24 bio 22 orgo 19 GC 18 PAT 18 RC and a 14 QR

second retake

21 AA
22 TS
20 Bio
24 Orgo
23 GC
19 PAT
19 RC
19 QR
