Does Econ stats fulfill it? I looked for the answer to this, but suprisingly no one had asked this one before. Our pre-med advisor says that it doesn't, but stats is still stats, isn't it?

Also, are there any non-Texas schools with a stats requirement if you've taken two semesters of calculus?

Probably depends on if it's listed as a math class or a business class.

In any case, standard answer is going to be: call schools and ask.

^ Okay, the math requirement, lol.

At my school, the only stats that is listed under the math department is math stats, which you take after calc III. Biostats is under the bio department and psych stats is under the psych department. Our advisors say that biostats and psych stats are fine for the math requirement, but they say that econ stats isn't because it isn't applicable to medicine...

If you can't get an A in regular stats there's something wrong with you. If your dream school requires it, take it at a community college.

HA! This is solid gold advice.👍 Especially the bolded text.

Nope. Don't take prereqs at a CC. Take them at your 4 yr.

Your first part was spot on though. Just take a regular stats class, and you really shouldn't have problems with it.

What do people mean by regular stats? Is that the one that you take in the math department that doesn't require calculus? My school doesn't have that. 🙁 Plus, pysch stats and bio stats will kill you at my school.

Are you talking econometrics (which at my school is a 400-level econ class, and quite more difficult than the engineering stat class I took)? Or is it some random intro stats class that all econ majors have to take. What is it listed as on your transcript?

I definitely used my econometrics class towards my math gpa.

Yeah....no. You can take 1 or 2 at a community college. If it just so happens to come up at an interview the op can just say "The stats classes where full at that time" or whatever bs. You shouldnt take all your classes at a cc but in this situation I most definately would.
