So my university is a little weird, I have grades for classes on my transcript, but it also says "credit by exam" by those letter grades. These grades factor into my gpa on my university transcript but will it factor into my gpa on my application?

Yep, those grades are in your GPA.

Any college course you've ever taken must be reported when you apply, and every college transcript you've ever received must be submitted with your application. In your app, you will list every course, line by line, and the app service will verify your listings, line by line, against your submitted transcripts.

well see the thing is, i took ap and ib tests and got letter grades from my schools for those tests...so on my transcript i have like 20 classes for my freshman fall semester! so does it still count, i would hate to lose all those A's!

Oh, you mean AP credit. I don't think you'll get to use those A's.

Also look at some of the schools you're interested, see what they say on their websites about accepting AP credit for any prereqs. There are MD schools that won't take AP credit for bio, for example. I don't know about DO schools on that.

I suggest you open an AACOMAS app, just so you can see all the instructions for this stuff. You don't have to submit the app, just start one.

Best of luck to you.

How is it listed on your transcript? Are credit hours listed for each of those courses?

Straight from the AACOMAS instructions;

Advanced Placement: advanced credit granted by examination, including the College Level Equivalency Program (CLEP). The subjects and credit hours you received for these courses must appear on your official transcript. If these do not appear on the transcript, an official letter from the registrar is required. Advanced credit appearing on the transcript without subject or course names will be classified as non-science unless official documentation is received. If a letter grade is shown on the official transcript, the letter grade should be listed in the AACOMAS Grade column and included in your GPA calculations. If a grade is not shown on the official transcript or the course is indicated as being passed, then enter the semester hours and, under AACOMAS grade, select "Advanced Placement".

My AP credits did not count bc my university did not give grades for them. It looks like yours will count. 😀
