Hey everyone,

Im in the process of getting everything together to apply on May 31st, and I had a question about one of my letters or rec. Im using interfolio to collect my letters and one of my letter writers submitted a non confidential letter of recommendation (i.e. I didn't waive my right to see it, this was a mistake on my end, as I forgot to check the "confidential" box when I put in the request). This letter is the one written by an MD that I worked with, and its 1 out of 7 letters that I have on file (this is the only one written by an MD though). I would like to get some advice on whether I should send it to medical schools or not. The downside is that its non confidential but the upside is that its very well written and its the only letter I have from an MD. What do you all think ? how much does the fact that its non-confidential matter ?

thanks!

Why dont you get him to resibmit a new entry as confidential. Btw 7 letters is overkil
Honestly, mostly because I don't want to seem pushy/ask him for too much. He is the medical director for a major clinical lab so he is very busy, and he was barley able to write me this letter. Do you think it is necessary for me to ask him ? like will it actually make that much of a difference if a letter is not confidential ?

Also, im not submitting all 7 to all schools. I have 7 on file, and Im submitting 3-4 letters per school (I think the max I chose so far for one school was 6 letters).

Thank you!
